In the New Aquitaine region, Lac de Biscarrosse (Etang Cazaux, Sanguinet), with a surface area of 5,600 hectares, is the 2nd largest lake in France, after Lac d'Hourtin. A natural freshwater lake formed some 4000 years ago, it is now a small paradise surrounded by greenery and pine trees.
Just 7 km from the town center, Biscarrosse Lac is made up of residential hamlets, including the ports of Maguide, Ispes and Navarrosse.
