History & heritage
- Visit the Musée de l'Hydraviation : located near the Lac Sud, it now boasts vast exhibition halls retracing this formidable epic. It features collections, documents and restored vintage seaplanes.
- The museum of traditions : Travel back in time at the Musée des Traditions de Biscarrosse. You'll be captivated by the stories of the Landes heritage and the daily lives of our ancestors since the Middle Ages.
- The 14th and 15th century church of Saint Martin , built of "garluche" stone typical of this part of the Landais region.
- 14th-century Château de Montbron (not open to the public), home to an English garrison of the Prince of Wales and Prince of Aquitaine, nicknamed the Black Prince, during the English occupation of Aquitaine.
- The Old Elm An ancient tree over 600 years old, it died in 2013 from a disease called graphiosis. Legend has it that a crown of white leaves mysteriously grew on it every May. A sculpture by artist Olga Kisseleva has been installed in the same spot to pay tribute to the tree.
Biscarrosse is packed with leisure activities to suit all tastes. By bike, secure cycle paths allow you to travel safely from Biscarrosse Ville to the ocean beaches or the lakes, a route along the lakes but also through the forest. And if you're feeling brave, the Dune du Pilat is just 27 km away.
